11 inches high
This casting depicts a sergeant of the Rough Riders, showing his toughness along with a sense of weariness from battle. Remington, himself, rode with the Rough Riders in Cuba during the Spanish-American War. At the time this was cast, it was expected to allow more of the public to purchase bronzes because of the lower cost of a small figure.
The Sid Richardson Museum Store offers high quality 100% hot-cast reproduction bronzes, produced by the lost wax method. Most are available in mini, desk and full size with a polished bronze finish. Each bronze is mounted on a marble base with a plate attached giving the name of the piece and the sculptor. Height shown includes base.
